about

While preparing for a future album, poj.wlkp noticed that some release-worthy archival material was piling up and working nicely together. And so it was decidedly presented here in 'Most.' A deep concept runs through the album and is exhibited in three different arrangements of the title track. 'Most,' which translates to 'Bridge' in English, is a symbolic tale about a man being torn between two people; like a rope bridge between two mountain sides. Each side jerking in its own direction and the bridge trying to serve it's purpose to join the two sides with strength and understanding. The hardships of a good man stuck in-between two good, but different people, with their own different needs of the man. A story we all know so well. As always poj.wlkp tries to avoid obvious musical solutions and reaches for surprising stylistic and rhythmic measures while keeping in touch with lyrical melodicism and an intimate, somewhat dark atmosphere. The production is again in the mid-fi vane, with traditional and experimental techniques making for an even more interesting listen. Songs like "Napisane" shine with melody and "Most 3" explodes with rhythm. The Unfinite release comes with two bonus tracks. The first is "Ostatnie Wakacje," which is an instrumental number that sounds like something you might hear in the back of a taxicab while driving to somewhere you can't pronounce, in some 3rd world country no one has ever heard of. And "Im Dalej," which is a wildly different venture for poj.wlkp and could even be classified as black metal! All in all, 'Most' is an intriguing excerpt to the poj.wlkp discography and not to be missed.
